subvert is looking for interns to help

Heather Gold / subvert is looking for 1-2 interns to help with the development of shows, project management, promotion and web help. This is a great opportunity to learn about the web, the creation of live and online performance and entrepreneurship. The internship will include a mix of video, audio and web editing and logging and some organizational + administrative tasks. This may include a role in the creative process of a solo show. You don’t have to be an experienced video or story editor. What matters most to me is that you’re smart, forthright, enthusiastic, a great listener, take initiative and have impeccable follow-through. For me, smart doesn’t mean that you get good grades on tests at school though you might.

subvert produces live and online experiences that allow us to be ourselves together, usually involving jokes. subvert produces the talk show for the Internet era the Heather Gold Show.

Heather Gold is a writer and innovative comedian with deep roots in The Valley. She’s been in media like Wired, npr, LOGO and performed with people like Tony-winner Bill Irwin and Margaret Cho. For 10 years, she’s been mixing up the Net and in live performances exploring the emotional mechanics of how people connect — for example, how to be “private” in public, how to scale conversation, and how to bring really different people together. Heather also uses her performance as a lab, bringing insight to technology, business and communities like Google and Web 2.0 on how to create useful conversations. She’s a leading voice in the direction of evolving entertainment, media and community (SXSW, medibistro). She’ll soon be the host of two shows on the This Week In Tech network (TWiT) which has 2.6 million viewers a month.
